Job Description
East End Surf Lifesaving Club are looking for a paid administrator to be the heart of our volunteer organisation. You will be the key person that keeps our lifeguards on the beaches, our members training safely, our finances in control and oversee venue hire for the best little Surf Club on the planet with a mixture of working from home and the best office in Taranaki !
The role can be 20 hours a week during the Summer, dropping down to 10 hours a week during the Winter. Hours can be varied to suit the workload by mutual agreement and there is always more that can be taken on, to reduce the workload on our volunteers. There is also the opportunity to be paid to work at club functions and also we would supportive of helping a suitable candidate get their bar license manager.
We are looking for someone that is reliable, competent, kind and confident with email, social media and accounting software (Xero). There is a supportive management committee with a staffing sub committee that this position reports to and full training / onboarding will be given. The ability to attend the monthly committee meetings on a Thursday evening is important.
Some of the main elements of the role are :
Accounting Administration (The ability to use Xero efficiently is critical)
Grant Reconciliation Support
Venue Hire Management, Liquor License Application and Bar Stock Ordering / Bar Staff Co-Ordination
Management of the Club Access System
Membership Management
Management of Email and Correspondence, including social media (Facebook)
Facilities Management and Oversight of Contractors brought into maintain our buildings.
Lifeguard and Training Support (Uniform Management etc.)
Support for competition entry, membership database administration
The role is seasonal to an extent, October to December is focused on Venue Hire and Membership and the ability to attend on a Sunday Morning from 0+:45 until 10:30am would be a huge advantage. November to March is very focused on supporting the operational side of the club plus competition entry and assisting the different departments in East End with accommodation booking etc. There is the ability to work from home with the ability to have a presence at East End Surf Club for venue hire co-ordination and membership enquires / open day support. During the Winter, most of the support can be done remotely.
This is a permanent position, however if you could fill the role on a casual basis please apply and indicate that.
