About the Role

Are you a proactive and enthusiastic administrator or receptionist looking for a role where you can make a real impact in a dynamic healthcare environment?

Thames Emergency Department (ED) operates 24/7, and in this vital role, you'll be rostered across a seven-day schedule, ensuring seamless support to our busy team.

You will also be required to cover other areas in our admin team.

This fast-paced and rewarding role offers plenty of variety. You'll be at the frontline of patient care, creating a welcoming environment for patients and their whānau, while providing essential support to our clinical staff, making this position a vital part of our hospital community.

About Thames

Thames Hospital is a modern 50-bed secondary care facility offering a comprehensive range of services, including an emergency department, inpatient care, day surgery, an infusion unit, rehabilitation services, birthing unit and low-acuity mental health care. Our hospital boasts 24-hour laboratory and radiology services, including advanced CT imaging.

As an accredited training hub, we support 5th and 6th-year medical students from Auckland University, PGY2 House Officers, and registrars in Rural Hospital Medicine and General and Acute Care Medicine.

We offer a robust quality improvement program, CME opportunities, and a RMO teaching program. Telehealth is expanding at Thames, supporting inpatient care, outpatient clinics, and emergency services like stroke thrombolysis.
