Policy Reform and Legislation

Principal location – Parramatta / WFH hybrid, 2-3 days per week in the office - Flexible working arrangements maybe negotiated.
Employment type – Temporary positions (6 Months) – Full time (35 hours) will consider Part time options
Salary – Clerk Grade 7/8, Base Salary ($110,266 – $ $122,058), plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

The Policy Reform & Legislation (PRL) branch is looking for a Administration Coordinator who brings enthusiasm and drive to join the team. This role does not manage/supervise others,

The PRL branch sits within the Law Reform and Legal Services Division of the Department. The Branch contributes to the development of policy for the justice system and to delivering government reform priorities, including complex legislative reform projects.

The Administrative Coordinator sits in the Business Operations Team within PRL and supports the PRL branch by delivering high-quality operational and administrative services. This is a great opportunity to work in a dynamic, purpose-driven environment and contribute to initiatives that shape impactful reform.

We are a high-volume, sometimes repetitive, customer focused work environment, where no two days are the same. We work closely together, with on-going support and personal development encouraged.


What you’ll do

In this role you will:
Provide secretariat support for key meetings and ensure the smooth delivery of day-to-day administrative operations.
Coordinate branch training and maintain a training schedule for the year
Monitor and manage budget allocations related to training and events
Plan and coordinate two major branch-wide events annually
Organise stakeholder roundtables and internal meetings, including preparation of agendas and minutes
Maintain internal systems and records to track correspondence and staff movements
Support effective internal communication and collaboration within the branch
Liaise with stakeholders to resolve issues and follow up outstanding actions
Work independently and as part of a team
Work as part of a responsive and collaborative team that values communication, initiative, and mutual support.

What we’re looking for

Demonstrated experience in administration and managing competing priorities in a high-volume setting
Excellent written communication skills and attention to grammatical detail
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with a proactive approach to issue resolution
Attention to detail
Experience supporting event coordination, and general office operations
