Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.

Responsibilities

GENERAL SUMMARY

The clinician in this job is responsible for providing a range of intensive outpatient services to an assigned group serving the overall adult population. Intensive case management services with outreach and engagement services are required.

Interventions may be time limited or longer term and will be part of an outcome-oriented treatment plan developed within a managed care framework, which includes periodic reviews for appropriateness of services and intensity. The individual in this Job will participate actively in the treatment planning and review process, including supporting documentation of the clinical services performed.

The individual in this Job will be required to work with primary care physicians, DSHS programs, and inpatient facilities, mental health residential facilities, and other adult servicing agencies to develop a comprehensive treatment plan for clients with significant behavioral health problems in the community.

Case management includes coordination and consultation with other service providers and community resources, and referrals to facilitate meeting the clients' needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

• Provides direct services and/or internal and external organization referrals for clients.

• Develops treatment plans and maintains accurate and timely clinical records according to organization policy.

• Performs outreaches/services to community locations to engage clients in care.

• To comply with County and State standards there will be service intensity expectations.

• Prepares necessary reports, summaries and progress notes, and incorporates into clinical records.

• Performs consultations and liaison duties with other agencies and resources on behalf of the client.

• Assists clients to remain stable in the community, thereby reducing the use of hospitals or involuntary treatment services.

• Monitor medication regimes and treatment compliance.

• Monitor utilization of services and the success of outcome measures.

• Participates in team member meetings, consultations, case presentations and in service training.

• Participates in ongoing program development and assessment.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a counseling-related field required.
• A minimum of one year of clinical experience as a clinician or case manager and demonstrated skills in clinical assessment and treatment plans, preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS
• Possesses excellent judgment, effective communication and strong collaboration skills.
• Understands the principles of individual therapy, group therapy and/or case management approach to providing services.
• Possesses strong working knowledge of the physical and/or behavioral health and support resources of King County and is familiar with state and local health delivery systems, including knowledge of various funding principles and clinical services mandates.
• Understands recovery concepts in behavioral health; synthesizes and applies, as appropriate to their work at Sound.
• Ability to learn new tasks and skills quickly, and to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, while simultaneously managing crises.
• Able to demonstrate the capacity to appreciate and work well with the complex and diverse population. .

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS
• Must obtain and maintain a Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor (AAC) credential through the Washington State Department of Health as required under RCW 18.19 – Counselors.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• an active MHP-qualifying credential with DOH (i.e. LICSW, LMHC, LMFT, or an associate-level version of these credentials preferred

SENSORY/PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

• Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and community partners in person by telephone, and through virtual platforms.

• Observe and assess client behavior, emotional state, and environmental safety cues during clinical interactions.
• Use visual acuity to review documentation, reports, and electronic systems.

Physical:
• Sit for extended periods while completing documentation, virtual meetings, and computer-based work.
• Frequently use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, phone, and other office equipment.
• Occasionally stand, walk, bend, or reach while interacting with clients or retrievingfiles or materials.
• Travel within the community as required to meet with clients, attend meetings, or conduct outreach.
• Lift or move items such as files, laptops, or office materials (typically up to 10–20 pounds).
• Maintain the ability to engage clients in both office and community-based environments.

Mental:
• Maintain concentration and attention to detail while documenting clinical services and reviewing records.
• Analyze complex client situations and apply clinical judgment in accordance with professional standards and organizational policies.
• Manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Demonstrate emotional regulation and professionalism when working with individuals experiencing behavioral health crises or distress.
• Exercise sound decision-making and problem-solving skills in both routine and urgent situations.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements including HIPAA.
• Adapt to changing client needs, program requirements, and organizational priorities.

Compensation:Bachelor's degree range: $31.90-$34.65 per hour.
