We are looking for two fixed term Advisors, Communications and Education to be a part of the Electoral Commission's Communications and Education team. You will join a team at a busy and exciting time as we prepare for the next general election and focus on increasing awareness and understanding of the electoral system, enrolling and voting.

You will contribute to the team's objectives by ensuring clear, engaging and accurate information is delivered to the public and to our people.

This involves helping to deliver information to our people through the Commission’s internal channels, contributing to the development of the Electoral Commission's online content, publications and resources, supporting the delivery of public information campaigns, developing communications for internal and external stakeholders, and providing sound communications advice. You will help to develop information that is relevant and accessible to all New Zealanders.

These are fixed term roles until December 2026, with an immediate start.

The salary band for this role is $88,880 - $98,750 depending on skills and experience.

Primary deliverables include:

Develop and deliver communications for the Commission’s internal audiences through a range of channels.
Contribute to developing resources that increase voter awareness and understanding.
Contribute to developing and delivering publications and resources for internal and external audiences.
Building strong, collaborative, and productive relationships with key stakeholders (internal, external partnerships and providers).
Provision of communications advice and guidance to internal stakeholders.

To be successful in this role you must have:

A relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent experience, at least two years in communications or marketing
Experience in internal communications is preferred.
Experience in public sector communications roles at an advisor level.
Excellent writing skills and experience presenting complex information clearly and simply.
Experience engaging with a variety of stakeholders both internally and externally, including Māori, Pasifika peoples, young people, new New Zealanders, and disabled people.
