We are currently seeking applications for an Advisor, Policy and Professional Development, to join the Accounting and Financial Services Branch at the Department of Treasury and Finance.
Remuneration: ASO5 – Salary Range ($85,7+0 - $+5,413 p.a.).

The Accounting and Financial Services Branch provides an advisory function to public authorities on accounting, financial management, reporting and taxation. It also leads the development and oversight of instructions under the Public Finance and Audit Act 1+87, whole of government banking, DTF graduate program, departmental finance and procurement, whole of government budget system and provides support to the Lotteries Commissioner.
About the opportunity:
Reporting to the Senior Advisor, Policy and Professional Development, this role is responsible for supporting projects relating to financial management policy that applies to SA Government and supports the management of professional development programs related to financial management for delivery to the department and more broadly across SA Government.
About you
To be successful you will have:
A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in accounting, finance, commerce, law or other relevant field.
Demonstrated capacity to function within a collaborative team, sharing information and expertise to facilitate a dynamic learning and performance environment.
Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills which result in effective and appropriate communication with a broad range of people.
Knowledge of the Public Finance and Audit Act 1+87 and Treasurer’s Instructions and knowledge of roles, functions and the responsibility of government.
Demonstrated experience in supporting the research, development, implementation and evaluation of policy related to accounting and financial reporting, preferably with a government focus.
