Mō tēnei tūranga - about the role
Our volunteers across the motu work in a dynamic and high-risk environment. These positions play an integral part in helping manage risk by providing quality, timely and accurate advice, support and services to regional and district management teams across the Motu, to enable our people to fulfil their health and safety responsibilities.
Working closely with other members of the Safety, Health & Wellbeing team, the role actively engages with others to influence and develop safety, health and wellbeing processes, communications and materials to support all Fire and Emergency personnel. You will also be involved in advising on incident investigations, where you will provide support to leaders where required.
We are currently looking for 3X Advisor Region Safety Health and Wellbeing based in:
Auckland or Waitemata
Tauranga or Hamilton
Christchurch or Dunedin
These are fixed term or secondment opportunities until 18 December 2026.
Ko tāu nā i tēnei tūranga - What you’ll bring to the role:
Hit the ground running in a fixed term or internal secondment opportunities using your experience in Safety Health and Wellbeing. You will have strong communication skills along with the ability to bring people on board and influence them to engage in the processes. Your people centred approach along with your experience in assessing and conveying information to a wide audience will be key to your success in this position.
Working with volunteers, this position requires some travel to engage with our volunteers in person. It also needs flexibility to work around their schedule. This may involve adapting your schedule to be available on weekends or after standard hours.
To be successful in this role, we’d expect you will have:
Experience working in a similar advisory position
Experience working alongside managers and a demonstrated ability to establish trusted relationships
Understanding and familiarity with ACC Accredited Employer Programme and audit standards
Experience in supporting the design and implementation of safety, health & wellbeing initiatives or programmes
Ability to analyse, interpret and report on data and identify recommendations
Relevant health and safety tertiary qualification
The salary range for this role is $96,998 - $107,776 (pro rata), dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
