Position Overview: As an Advocate within our CA firm, you will play a crucial role in providing legal expertise and support across a wide range of financial and business-related matters. You will collaborate closely with our team of Chartered Accountants (CAs) and other professionals to offer comprehensive legal advice and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This position requires a deep understanding of both legal principles and financial practices, making it ideal for someone with a dual background in law and accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal Advisory Services: Provide expert legal advice and opinions on matters related to taxation, corporate laws, audit issues, financial regulations, and other areas relevant to our clients and the firm's operations.
Drafting and Review: Prepare and review legal documents including contracts, agreements, opinions, compliance reports, and other legal correspondence. Ensure accuracy, legality, and compliance with applicable regulations.
Representation: Represent clients before various judicial and quasi-judicial authorities, including tax tribunals, appellate authorities, courts, and regulatory bodies. Handle litigation matters efficiently and effectively.
Compliance Monitoring: Monitor regulatory developments and ensure that the firm and its clients adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and statutory requirements. Provide proactive compliance advice.
Client Interaction: Interact directly with clients to understand their legal needs, provide solutions, and build strong client relationships. Act as a trusted advisor on legal matters impacting their business operations.
Training and Education: Conduct internal training sessions for CAs and other professionals within the firm to enhance their understanding of legal issues and compliance requirements.
Collaboration: Work closely with Chartered Accountants, tax advisors, financial analysts, and other professionals within the firm to deliver integrated solutions that address both legal and financial aspects of client needs.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Legal Expertise: Qualified Advocate with a strong understanding of Indian laws, particularly those related to taxation, corporate law, audit, and finance. Additional knowledge of international laws and regulations is advantageous.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly and concisely to clients and colleagues.
Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess legal issues from multiple perspectives and propose effective solutions.
Team Player: Collaborative attitude with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment. Experience in cross-functional collaboration is preferred.
Ethical Standards: High ethical standards and integrity, ensuring strict confidentiality and compliance with professional ethics.
Experience: Prior experience in a legal role within a CA firm, financial institution, or related industry is preferred. Experience in litigation and representing clients before regulatory authorities is highly valued.
