AEM Developer

1. Purpose of the Job

To develop and collaborate with development teams to create customized software

programs and software applications to support Vacuum Techniques (VT) Adobe

Experience Manager (AEM).

To provide technical support to users and assist with software demonstrations,

prototyping, testing and delivering training and support globally.

Help drive the specification, selection, development and delivery of Content

Management System solutions.

To ensure the successful adoption of best practice methods across the company

To constantly look for opportunities to help end-users become more efficient and

effective in their day to day working.

3. Dimensions

o AEM is a comprehensive Digital Rights Content Management

System which manages all of VT content and assets.

o An understanding of AEM technology and methodologies.

o An understanding of Java Frameworks (like Struts, Spring etc.) and

a knowledge of various AEM components like Tagging, Translation,

Search etc would be useful.

o An understanding of API Integration (REST/SOAP) of AEM CMS

with CRM, E-commerce systems or other portals.

o An understanding of Apache Sling and OSGi (Apache Felix)

technologies which are used predominantly in AEM. Apache Sling

is a Web Application structure where centralization of content

applications happens using Java Content Repository like Apache

Jackrabbit or CRX to store and retrieve content.

o An understanding / appreciation of MS Azure cloud services for

platform development would be useful. Cloud services have been

used to leverage the power of cloud technologies for AEM.

o It is important to keep up to date with all the AEM performance and

security updates, along with the automatic rollout of any corrective

updates so as to not impact normal system's operation and

availability.

o An understanding of Adobe AI intelligence platform would be useful.

o Reduced concerns about the system's operation and availability,

which translates into reduced operational costs for the business.

o An understanding of Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA), which is

our legal framework to protect ideas and information from being

stolen or shared with competitors or third parties.

o Support collaboration with external users such as suppliers and 3rd

Parties.

o Appreciation of Product Data Management of drawings, objects and

data.

o Experience with Service Lifecycle Agreement management

 Part of a small PLM development and support team – centralised in

Burgess Hill, but operating on behalf of users globally

 Projects involving multiple business stakeholders – both technical and

commercial, as well as involving potential external partners and suppliers

4. Principal Accountabilities

Main Duties are:

 Provide users with technical support as needed and relay information to our

development teams for ongoing maintenance and update needs

 Optimize applications by integrating new technologies and performing

upgrades

 Contribute to presentations, as well as demonstrating prototypes and

completed applications

 Perform diagnostic tests and debugging procedures while improving code and

re-designing tasks

 Generate ideas for software innovation based on market trends

 Document development processes, procedures and application version

histories

 Keep up with advancements in application engineering and new technologies

Identifying the need for new or improved systems and tools, and quantifying

the business benefits of such tools

 Specifying use cases, and driving the selection and/or development direction

 Working with external vendors and/or internal IT development teams to realise

and implement the specified systems and tools

 Ensuring the appropriate use of existing systems / tools and methodologies,

as well as developing new methods and extending existing functionality.

 Promoting best practice usage and ensuring consistency of approach across

VT entities

 Developing internal competency and knowledge of CMS technologies

 Develop and implement encryption policies and procedures for the

organization

 Manage encryption key lifecycle and access controls

 Develop and deliver training on encryption best practices

5. Skills / Competencies / Flexibility

 Able to analyse complex and/or conflicting end user requirements and identify

key functionality and use-cases as part of high level system definition.

 Well organised, displaying clear, rational and analytical approach to problem

solving and planning.

 Able to elicit user wants and translate them into real needs.

 Persistence to get to the root of issues and challenges

 Excellent communications skills and able to facilitate workshops

 Flexibility to travel to multiple VT locations nationally and internationally on a

regular basis.

 Sensitive to multi-national differences in culture and working practices.

5. Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree – Software or computer science degree, or extensive

industrial experience in a related field may be considered

Hands-on project or work package management experience beneficial

At least 2 years of experience in developing encryption solutions in Adobe

AEM Lifecycle.

Previous experience of software development and implementation projects

including testing, training and acceptance.

Experience with encryption protocols such as AES, RSA, and SSL/TLS.

Experience with security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion

detection/prevention systems, and access control systems.

Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, and HTML.

Required problem-solving and analytical skills.

Required communication and interpersonal skills
