Why work with us:

Every child and young person deserves a great education.

We have a strategy that aims to unlock every child’s potential now and into the future, one that in partnership with learners, students, parents, and the wider South Australian community will build a world-leading public education system. One that is equitable and prioritises learning and wellbeing.

Together we will make our education system the best it can be.

When our children and young people thrive, so do our communities and our state.

About the Role:

The Aboriginal Education Directorate provides strategic cultural and policy advice on national and state policy direction in relation to Aboriginal education and contributes to the implementation of the Department’s Aboriginal Education Strategy.

The Aboriginal Community Education Team Leader takes a holistic perspective across a network of schools and sites to identify immediate and long-term service requirements for Aboriginal children to ensure they are supported to learn. The position works closely with Local Education Teams (LETs) to improve the policies, practices, support, and services provided to Aboriginal children and young people to improve learning and wellbeing outcomes. The position provides advisory and consultative services to LETs, school leadership teams, Student Support Services staff and site based Aboriginal education staff to improve decision making and service provision impacting the participation in education and early childhood services of Aboriginal children, students, their parents, and families.
