About the Role
As an Aged Care Home & Community Assistant, you will be providing personalised support to older Australians who reside around Canberra & Surrounding Suburbs. We have Casual and Permanent Part Time opportunities available with short shifts, that are often back to back. Majority of work will be between 7am and 6pm Monday to Friday with no weekend or sleepover shifts. Some work outside of these hours may be required to meet the needs of our clients. You will provide a combination of domestic assistance, personal care and community access support to best meet the needs of the people we support.
We are looking for candidates that have at least three days of availability each week and that are happy to travel up to 45 minutes while working. You will be reimbursed .+2c per kilometre travelled while you work.
Key Responsibilities
Domestic assistance such as meal preparation and light house cleaning
Community access to medical appointments and social activities
Personal Care including grooming and showering
Supporting with tasks and routines
Build positive relationships with clients
Skills & Experience
Passionate about making a positive impact in our ageing community
Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability or similar) will be highly regarded
An Australian Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle with minimum third-party insurance.
Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships
A current First Aid and CPR Certificate (must be obtained prior to employment)
Successful candidates will be required to undertake relevant pre-employment checks to ensure the safety of our clients. This includes a National Criminal History Record Check and an Aged Care Statutory Declaration. We will discuss with and support you to meet these specified requirements as part of your recruitment and on boarding process if successful.
