Job Description
We are looking for an AGM - Operations Head for our Fortune 200 Client who is US based freight forwarding company who have their BPO in Chennai.
Responsibilities
Oversee and Manage day to day operational activities related to Ocean & Air operations. This includes, timely trucking, documentation, customs brokers co-ordination and other forwarding core activities performed by Ocean & Air Teams.
Should have in-depth knowledge about forwarding and US market knowledge preferred.
Should be on top of the processes, identify challenges and present workable solutions to management in US and India.
Process Leader: Drive productivity and KPI’s and create mechanisms to arrest quality issues which results in service failures and $ loss to the company.
People Leader: Engage closely with staff(s) and contain attrition. Create mechanisms to recognize core talent, proactive mindset and prepare bench resources for future growth.
Collaborating with other departments to streamline processes and improve inter-departmental coordination.
Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, Optimize resource allocation. Ensure compliance with regulations and quality standards.
Leading and guiding the operations team to achieve operational goals efficiently.
Qualifications
Minimum 10 – 15 years of experience in handling freight forwarding processes, leadership skills, handled large teams and experience in USA forwarding preferred.
Experience from freight forwarding preferred. US forwarding experience would be an added advantage.
Excellent experience in handling different freight processes, people and have proven record of running back-office operations in a fast pace KPI environment.
Excellent communication skills and prior experience of handling US engagements would be an advantage.
