AI Governance Intern – Roles & Responsibilities

Overview:

As an AI Governance Intern, you will assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring responsible AI practices, ensuring that machine learning systems are ethical, secure, compliant, and aligned with organizational goals. This is a research-focused, documentation-heavy role requiring a strong understanding of AI systems, compliance frameworks, and cybersecurity.

Key Responsibilities:

Research & Analysis

Conduct in-depth research on AI governance frameworks (e.g., ISO/IEC 42001, NIST AI RMF).

Study case studies related to ethical failures, AI risks, and regulatory lapses.

Stay up to date on evolving AI regulations and compliance trends.

Policy & Documentation

Assist in drafting internal AI use policies and ethical guidelines.

Document AI lifecycle processes (model development, validation, deployment).

Help maintain risk registers, model cards, and audit trails.

Compliance & Risk Support

Identify governance gaps in AI models and processes.

Assist in evaluating AI systems for bias, fairness, transparency, and explainability.

Support compliance alignment with global standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

Collaboration

Work with cross-functional teams (Cybersecurity, Data Science, Legal).

Participate in governance reviews and internal audits.

Tools & Frameworks

Get hands-on exposure to model governance platforms, version control systems, and compliance dashboards.

Support the integration of AI governance tools in development pipelines.

Preferred Skills:

Strong foundational understanding of AI/ML systems.

Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and risk management.

Familiarity with compliance frameworks like ISO, NIST, or GDPR.

Excellent documentation and communication skills.

Critical thinking and ethical awareness in AI usage.

Job Type: Internship

Pay: ₹8,086.00 - ₹55,423.32 per month
