The Opportunity
internXL is seeking dynamic Trainers to join our upcoming Innovation Challenge, a 6-week accelerator program culminating in a hands-on hackathon. This is a limited engagement ideal for builders in the AI space who also have a knack for teaching and mentorship.
We're looking for individuals who can break down complex technical concepts, inspire emerging talent, and roll up their sleeves when it's time to help teams build and ship.
This isn't a traditional teaching gig. We aren't looking for academic lecturers; we are looking for "builders in the wild", people who can navigate a codebase, architect an AI agent, and command a room with charisma. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of AI innovators, guiding them from raw concepts to pitch-ready prototypes.
This accelerator is virtual, but in-person attendance is required for the Hackathon between March 20, 2026 - March 24, 2026.
The Role
As a Trainer, you are the backbone of the accelerator. You will transition between Lead Instructor, Mentor, and Technical Consultant throughout the program.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Instruction (Virtual): Own and deliver one full lesson based on our defined curriculum. You’ll take the lead on high-level concepts and hands-on application for your assigned topic.
Support: While you aren't the lead for every lesson, you’ll be present during other sessions to assist with student questions, provide additional context, and support your fellow trainers.
Virtual Office Hours: Lead dedicated Q&A sessions to help teams troubleshoot technical hurdles and refine their builds.
In-Person Hackathon Mentorship: During the intensive Innovation Challenge Hackathon, you will be "on the floor" as a hands-on mentor. You’ll help teams debug, refine their technical architecture, and polish their pitches.
Final Evaluations: Participate in the hackathon presentations, providing expert feedback and validation for the teams' final projects.
Technical Breadth
We need trainers who are comfortable getting their hands dirty in the following areas:
Prompt & Context Engineering: Beyond basic chat; teaching how to structure data for LLMs.
AI Agents: Building autonomous workflows and multi-agent systems.
Vibe Coding: Leveraging modern, high-velocity tools (like Cursor, Replit, or Bolt) to build at the speed of thought.
Fine-Tuning: Understanding when and how to specialize models for specific tasks.
The Pitch: Translating "tech-speak" into value propositions that win over judges.
Who You Are
The Builder-Educator: You likely have experience as a coding bootcamp instructor, a technical speaker, or a developer advocate. You know how to explain complex "black box" concepts simply.
Charismatic & Engaging: You can hold the attention of a room and inspire students through the "trough of sorrow" that comes with rapid prototyping.
Technically Adept: You have a portfolio of AI projects or a deep background in software engineering.
Atlanta-Based: This is a local engagement requiring your physical presence to foster the energy of the challenge.
