Saunders Abbott Ltd / AWTuning is a family run business based in Sidcup, we have a rich history in the VWG group, having been a Skoda main agent for many years we have now shifted our focus to becoming the souths premier VWG specialist along with all makes and model servicing and repairs.

Summmary

Our company is hiring a Vehicle Technician to join our team the tasks that they are likely to be carrying out involve vehicle servicing, diagnostic and repairs. We work on a lot of VWG vehicles alone with a good customer base of other makes and models, the role would also include inspecting and preparing vehicles for our sales department.

For this position, we're looking for a self-motivated individual with experience working in a workshop environment. Our ideal candidate has a minium of 3 years mechanical experience and must have a full UK driving licence

Monday to Friday with the option of over time on a Saturday but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles

Diagnose mechanical issues and provide effective solutions

Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively

Maintain accurate records of services performed

Collaborate with team members to enhance service efficiency

Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations

Communicate effectively with our service advisors

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician or similar role

Strong mechanical knowledge and expertise in vehicle maintenance

Proficient in using hand tools and power tools

Familiarity with diagnostic equipment

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Strong communication skills to interact with customers effectively

Job description

AirX Jet Support is a UK CAA and EASA approved Maintenance Repair Organisation with approval to provide Line & Base Maintenance services on our parent company fleet of CL-600, EMB 135 and ERJ 190 aircraft. Due to continued growth and expansion, we are recruiting for Aircraft Mechanics to join our team.

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual with experience working in a Base Maintenance environment. The Aircraft Mechanic will work under the supervision of Licensed Aircraft Engineers, performing maintenance tasks on Airframe, Engine, Avionic and Electrical systems.

This role is based at the London Stansted Diamond Hangar facility working a rotational 5-5-4 day shift pattern. A degree of flexibility is expected including a requirement to work overtime if required.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform scheduled maintenance tasks, defect rectification, modifications, repairs and functional tests on aircraft.

• Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, task cards, engineering drawings and other specific technical documentation.

• Complete all assigned work in a timely manner to optimise aircraft downtime.

• Highlight any technical issues, discrepancies or other issues to the Licensed Aircraft Engineer.

• Maintain a high standard of husbandry and cleanliness within assigned work areas.

• Adopt and promote the company Safety, Quality and FOD culture.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company processes and procedures.

• Promote a just culture and report all incidents and occurrences in the IQSMS portal.

• Actively support, promote and contribute to continuous improvement ideas and lean principles.

• Undertake any reasonable activities as required, including working away from London Stansted.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Have completed a recognised apprenticeship, formal training program or able to demonstrate comparable qualifications and experience.

• Have experience working in a Base Maintenance environment.

• Strong technical knowledge of Bombardier, Embraer or similar type aircraft.

• Good understanding of Health and Safety, Human Factors and Regulatory requirements.

• Be a team player who will grasp opportunities to exceed the expectations of external customers.

• Flexible worker who is prepared to adjust working hours to meet operational demands.

• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint and the ability to learn in-house systems.

Additional Requirements

• Candidates must have legal authorisation and the right to work in the UK.

• Full clean UK driving licence.

• Ability to obtain security clearance and hold an airside ID pass.
