About the Role:
An exciting opportunity awaits within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) for a forward‑thinking Artificial Intelligence (AI) Officer to join our dynamic Digital Health team. In this pivotal role, you will help shape the future of AI‑enabled healthcare across our network.
In this role, you will work closely with the Digital Health Leadership Team and lead the strategy, governance, development, implementation, and optimisation of AI technologies across NALHN. You will provide both strategic insight and hands‑on capability, ensuring AI innovations are purposeful, safe, and aligned with organisational priorities.
You will drive initiatives that enhance efficiency, strengthen data‑driven decision‑making, and improve patient outcomes. A key part of your role will be establishing and maintaining robust AI governance frameworks while overseeing the practical rollout of AI solutions across clinical and corporate environments.
Collaboration will be central to your success. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to integrate AI into business operations, champion ethical and responsible AI use, and translate complex technical concepts into meaningful operational improvements. You will also partner with Digital Health SA and the Department for Health and Wellbeing to ensure local initiatives align with statewide strategic directions and contribute to building NALHN’s internal capability.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will possess advanced expertise in AI, data science, machine learning, or digital health, with experience applying these skills in large and complex organisations. You excel at strategic planning, governance, and solution delivery, and you’re adept at leading projects, managing resources, and navigating changing environments. Your strengths include high‑level research and analytical capability, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to translate technical AI concepts for non‑technical audiences. You build strong relationships, lead stakeholder engagement confidently, and thrive in dynamic settings where innovation, ethics, and responsible technology use intersect. Your knowledge spans AI tools and platforms, data governance, AI ethics, privacy legislation, and clinical governance frameworks - all essential to enabling safe and effective AI use.
If you’re ready to help shape the future of AI in healthcare and contribute to a progressive, passionate, and forward‑looking team, we encourage you to apply.
