Job Description
We are hiring for Oracle DBA for Bangalore location. Key Responsibilities • Database Installation and Configuration : Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle database software and related products to ensure smooth and efficient operations. • Database Maintenance : Monitor and maintain the health, security, and performance of Oracle databases. Perform regular backups, restores, and recovery operations to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime. • Performance Tuning : Identify and analyse performance bottlenecks, tune SQL queries, and optimize database configurations to improve system performance and response times. Use tools and techniques to monitor and diagnose performance issues. • Scripting and Automation : Develop and maintain scripts to automate routine database administration tasks such as monitoring, backup and recovery, database performance tuning, and data validation. Write efficient SQL and PL/SQL scripts to perform data manipulation and analysis. • Database Security Implement and maintain database security measures to protect sensitive data. Ensure compliance with industry best practices and company policies. Monitor and resolve security vulnerabilities and access control issues. • Database Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution: Identify and resolve database-related problems, including errors, data inconsistencies, and performance issues. Collaborate with developers and system administrators to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues. • Database Design and Capacity Planning: Collaborate with application developers and system architects to design and implement effective database solutions. Perform capacity planning to ensure databases can handle current and future data growth. • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Generate regular reports on database performance, capacity, and availability. • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and network engineers, to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of database systems. Provide technical guidance and support to team members as needed. • Hands on experience in administering database systems running on Oracle 10g,11g,12C,1+c database • Expertise in managing high availability solutions RAC, DataGuard, ASM, Golden Gate, Exadata, Oracle Multitenancy • Expertise in Database maintenance activities and optimise including RMAN backups, Restores etc. • Expertise in Installation, administration and troubleshooting of Oracle 1+c/12c/11g/10g/+i for OLTP (multiple instances)/ OLAP environment on Very Large or Highly Transactional Databases • Experience in Performance Tuning using EXPLAIN PLAN, SQLTRACE, TKPROF, STATSPACK, AWR and ADDM. • Expertise in setup, installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of several Oracle tools and utilities like Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM -13.3/13.4), Oracle SQL Developer • Expertise in setup/implementation/maintenance of Real-Application-Cluster (RAC) of 2/3 Node RAC on 11g/12c/1+c. • Experience of Oracle Golden Gate installation, configuration and troubleshooting Golden Gate Extract and Replicate issues • Expertise in Configuration and Management, troubleshooting of Data Guard 1+c/12c/11g • Expertise in Upgradation of databases from lower version (+i/10g/11g) to higher version (12c/1+c). • Experience in managing cloud database in AWS RDS / Google RDS / Oracle exacs • Expertise in SQL Tuning, SQL Optimization, Cost based optimization and Hints • Sound understanding of system configuration parameters, using OEM • Hands on experience on public cloud (AWS, GCP) • Understanding of ITIL processes Required Skills And Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). • Strong knowledge of Oracle database architecture, administration, and performance tuning. • Proficient in writing SQL and PL/SQL scripts for data manipulation and analysis. • Experience with database monitoring and diagnostic tools. • Knowledge of backup and recovery procedures and tools. • Understanding of database security principles and best practices. • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, or Python. • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
