Job Description
Kerr Design Build is seeking an experienced Architectural Technologist or Draftsperson to support a range of residential projects in Vancouver, including renovations, additions, laneway homes, and new builds.
This role focuses on producing high-quality Revit drawings, supporting permit submissions, and collaborating closely with our design and production teams.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain Revit models and drawing sets from concept through to building permit and construction
Prepare permit-ready drawings in line with City of Vancouver requirements
Assist with code compliance, zoning analysis, and coordination with consultants (structural, energy, etc.)
Produce detailed construction drawings, including assemblies, details, and schedules
Support internal coordination between design, estimating, and production teams
Redline updates, revisions, and as-built documentation
Required Skill Set (Core)
Advanced Revit proficiency (non-negotiable)
Clean modelling practices
View templates, sheets, detailing
Ability to build and manage full permit + construction sets
Strong understanding of:
BC Building Code (Part 9)
City of Vancouver zoning/bylaws
Experience with:
Residential projects (renos, additions, new builds)
Permit submission packages
Ability to:
Read and interpret consultant drawings
Coordinate across disciplines
Work with minimal supervision
Nice-to-Have (but valuable)
Experience with:
Laneway homes / multiplex / character retention
Point of contact for City DP & BP applications
Familiarity with:
Enscape or rendering workflows
Dynamo (even basic curiosity is a plus)
Previous design-build environment experience
