Heart Medical are a family owned business and we have a real passion for growing that family with high quality caring staff who want to live our values and deliver exceptional patient care.
We provide Repatriations for patients who are taken poorly or injured abroad and need to come back to the UK for treatment. We also provide Medical cover at public events, providing emergency care and treatment to participants and the public as required.
Our events are throughout Yorkshire, but mainly based at our flagship event at the ACCU Stadium in Huddersfield.
Our Ambulance Crew Pathway is ideal for staff who want to start a career in the sector but still want the flexibility of working round other jobs and family life.
No previous experience or qualifications are required, however this is a challenging role that requires strong communication skills, a caring nature, and a passion to help those in need.
Our pathway takes you through the stages to become qualified ambulance crew but in bitesize, manageable pieces. You will start on a four day training course split over two weekends to qualify as a First Responder. You will then complete a portfolio while attending events to build your skills, knowledge and experience before moving onto the next stage.
Duties as a First Responder:
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and provide on-site assistance
- Assess the situation and prioritize actions based on the severity of injuries or conditions
- Administer first aid and perform life-saving techniques as necessary
- Coordinate with other emergency personnel, such as paramedics to ensure a cohesive response
- Communicate effectively with individuals involved in the emergency situation, providing reassurance and guidance
- Document all actions taken and observations made during the response for accurate reporting
Requirements:
- GCSE grade A-C in English & Maths
- full UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points and ability to travel
- Possess strong communication skills to effectively manage emergency situations
- Be a team player but be able to work independently
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions
- Ability to learn and then provide first aid and life-saving techniques
- Physical stamina and strength to handle physically demanding situations
- Able to provide a clear Enhanced DBS.
