Core Responsibilities:
Driving: Safely operating the ambulance in various traffic conditions, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
Patient Transport: Ensuring the safe and timely transport of patients to and from medical facilities, often under emergency conditions.
Vehicle Maintenance: Performing routine checks and maintenance on the ambulance, ensuring it is in good working order and roadworthy.
Communication: Maintaining clear and concise communication with dispatchers, medical personnel, and other relevant parties.
Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of patient transport, vehicle maintenance, and other relevant information.
Additional Responsibilities:
Emergency Response: Responding to emergency calls promptly and efficiently.
Following Protocols: Adhering to established emergency protocols and procedures.
Equipment Management: Ensuring all medical equipment is properly maintained and functional.
Patient Care: Providing a high level of care and comfort to patients during transport.
Professionalism: Maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor in all interactions.
Qualifications:
Valid Driver's License: A valid driver's license, often with specific endorsements for emergency vehicles.
Driving Experience: A proven track record of safe and responsible driving.
Ambulance Training: Completion of a relevant ambulance driving training program.
Physical Fitness: Ability to perform the physical demands of the job, such as lifting patients and equipment.
Knowledge of Traffic Laws: Comprehensive understanding of traffic laws and regulations.
