Valuation Control is responsible for the fair value Balance Sheet. Core responsibility is to independently verify prices with relevant market data sources and internal models. The team also works on regulatory requirements and quarterly ask of calculation of prudential valuation. The team is responsible for day 1 profit and loss recognition, leveling of assets and regulatory disclosures. The team works with the partners in Technology to define and deliver a target state data and systems architecture for IPV & market data. Furthermore, the Governance & Analytics team within valuation control is responsible for quality reporting and analysis to senior management and also governed the overall results. The team also is responsible for methodology and models for the group. It is a key control function for the bank.

Responsibilities may include:

This role is in Mumbai and to focus on a number of activities across IPV calculations, Governance and Control and regulatory and Audit reporting for individual asset classes and Deutsche Bank as a whole. The primary responsibilities will be:
• Perform the IPV (Independent Price Verification) processes on vanilla & exotic products like Bonds, IR Swaps, Swaption, Inflation Swaps, Inflation Options, CDS, FX Options, etc. Analyze and explain the outputs, identify drivers for variance, and publish the results to a broader audience.
• Perform completeness check and calculate reserve amounts on portfolio.
• Produce and perform quality checks for testing process for the regional business.
• Discuss price testing results, fair value and model reserves, general modeling issues / uncertainties with front office and reporting on suitability for specific products / markets.
• Prepare MIS pack presentation and report the same to senior GVG Management, Front Office, Risk Management, and Finance.
• Take ownership of the process and models, thoroughly understand the underlying financial and mathematical concepts, and make change / improvements, in consultation with other stakeholders, if situation warrants.
• Increase the process efficiency by automating manual steps in the processes. Co-ordinate with CTB to increase efficiency.
• Develop strong relationships with product control, risk management and quantitative departments on valuation and modeling issues.
• Significant involvement in ad-hoc projects / investigations and co-ordinate in the activities of the team.
• Ensure completion/adherence of activity as per standard procedure/key operating procedure.
• Ensure quality/quantity of processing is maintained as per the SLA.
• Escalate all issues in time, to the appropriate level, to avoid any adverse impact on the business.

Requirements:
• 2 to 3 years in valuations or product control areas such as Risk/P&L.
• Graduates (Maths/Stats/Econometrics) / Engineers / CA with MBA/CFA/FRM and good academic records with overall 2-3 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of the workings of OTC derivative products (Rates, Credit, Equity, FX, Commodities) and markets.
• Knowledge of pricing models.
• Experience with Bloomberg and Reuters in key markets data sets & using pricing functions.
• Strong experience with MS Excel financial functions and experience in writing macros.
• Basic experience in using large datasets with experience in relevant software packages, e.g. MS Excel, MS Access, VBA, and SQL. Experience with additional programming languages is a plus, e.g. Python, Matlab, R, or C++.
• Knowledge of coding in Python useful.
• Able to multi-task and deliver under tight deadlines.
