Job Description
MRGR is a global team of modeling experts within the firm’s Risk Management and Compliance organization. The team is responsible for conducting independent model validation and model governance activities to help identify, measure, and mitigate Model Risk in the firm. The objective is to ensure that models are fit for purpose, used appropriately within the business context for which have been approved, and that model users are aware of the model limitations and how they could impact business decisions.
The critical role of managing model risk depends on a solid infrastructure and a project management and control mindset. As a member of the Chief Operating Office, you will join a dynamic team that performs the critical task of maintaining the model risk governance infrastructure for the firm. The COO operates in two tracks: – (i) Technology track that focuses on developing tools and dashboards and (ii) Business Analysis track that focuses on analytics, metrics reporting, process improvement, and executing strategic projects.
Job responsibilities:
This role will perform the following activities in the Business Analysis track:
Develop and maintain processes that facilitate model governance and review activities
Project manage initiatives that process efficiencies or that are regulatory
Innovation in model governance tools, systems, and practices to unlock efficiencies
Gather business requirements and work with the technology team to deploy system enhancements
Help produce and analyze operational metrics, and develop model risk reports
Provide support to MRGR committees and training
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or Mathematics
0 to 2 years of work experience, preferably in Risk / Regulatory Reporting or Data Analytics background
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface with other functional areas in the firm on model-related issues, and produce clear and concise documents for internal and external (regulatory) consumption
Proficiency with data mining/gathering and manipulation of data sets required
Advanced skills in Excel and Excel VBA is must have
Good knowledge of Python would be plus
Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to analyze large data sets and present conclusions concisely. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Self-motivated, organized and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Intellectually curious with a proven ability to learn quickly
