Join our development team (part of ICT) as an Intermediate Data Developer, contributing to our datalake, data transformation and software development practice.
Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this position
This role offers career development opportunities including a pathway to senior, for those eager to learn our systems and products, and who show initiative. You'll work closely with the Software Development Tech Lead, business analysts, testers, and Data and Analytics teams, playing a key role in our wider delivery team.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain our data integration pipeline (Microsoft Azure Data Factory and Synapse), .Net and Python codebase, SQL environments, and Microsoft Power platform.
Implement best coding practices and deliver custom code and data transformation pipelines.
Enhance and expand our continuous deployment strategy.
Take ownership for the data platform's future, including challenging the status quo and introducing new approaches.
Ensure datastores are optimised and data pipelines work seamlessly through automated testing, peer reviews, and refactoring.
Address bug fixing, troubleshooting, and corrective actions as needed, and actively support both the .Net developers and the Data Analysts in their handling of datasets.
Ko koe tēnei | About you
You have a degree in computer sciences with prior professional experience with Python, .Net or other programming languages applied to the data transformation domain
Prior experience with Azure Data Lake environemtns, Synapse, SQL server or other similar platforms.
Prior exposure to CI/CD and DevOps.
Beyond these technologies, you may have prior knowledge of other SQL environments (Oracle PL/SQL would be a plus) or other datalake/datawarehousing solutions.
Curious about new technologies and interested in facets of IT such as security, networking and development.
Independent, self-directing working style, with an ability to learn quickly.
Passionate about improving the digital experience for our kaiako and ākonga.
