The Gender Responsive Budgeting Unit
The Financial Frameworks team, Budget Strategy optimises public sector resource management systems to drive value for money for Victorians. The team is responsible for budget and financial management legislation and policy and providing advice on its application and reform options.
The Gender Responsive Budgeting Unit sits within the Financial Frameworks team and works to embed gender impact analysis in the Government's budget decision-making processes and to ensure outcomes for women are measured as part of the budget decision-making process.
About the role
Gender Responsive Budgeting (GRB) was introduced in Victoria in 2026. The Gender Responsive Budgeting unit will deliver the continued implementation and ongoing development of GRB in Victoria, including contributing to the delivery of the annual budget.
Key selection criteria
Contributes to achieving outcomes through the provision of advice and analysis on gender equality and gender impacts in policy development, or related fields.
Contributes to developing, implementing or researching policies and advice relating to gender equality impacts or related fields.
Supports the achievement of outcomes through preparing clear and concise written information to highlight options for decision makers and ensure understanding of the content.
Builds and maintains productive and positive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Works collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrates computer literacy and experience in using Microsoft Office products to develop high quality written/visual analysis and communications.
Mandatory requirements
A relevant tertiary qualification, for example in public policy, finance or law, or relevant experience, is desirable.
