Process Overview Bank of America Global Equities is a market leader in providing world-class service to a wide range of clients. Global Equities includes Institutional Derivatives Sales, Derivative and Convertible Trading, New Product Development, Equity Capital Markets, Institutional Equity Sales, Equity Trading, Electronic Trading Services, Prime Brokerage and OTC Trading. Global Equities provides marketing, structuring and trading of listed and customized equity products for it clients. Equity Derivative Sales: The Derivative Sales team works with the US Equity Sales and Trading desks and helps them in their client strategy effort by identifying tradable option ideas. The team primarily supports the various Equities desks by providing commentary & charts on indices, ETFs and macro-economic environment in US, EMEA and APAC Responsibilities
• Design option strategies, identify market trends and publish concept notes
• Identify trends in single stocks, ETFs and indices with emphasis on options trade ideas
• Extract historical data from Bloomberg and other public sources to prepare implied and historical volatility screens for indices, ETFs & single stocks
• Identify Trends in Equity Assets using Technical Indicators like Price, Moving Averages, and Volumes etc.
• Forecast Moves in Equity Assets on Events such as Earnings, Corp. Actions etc. by estimating Implied Moves using Black-Sholes Model
• Create daily market strategy notes that include market color as well as charts that provide trading signals on stock prices, stock volatility, option open interest etc.
• Create spreadsheets to calculate Dividend Yield, Co-variance etc.
• Design price and volatility spread strategies
• Provide earnings related products and market commentary
• Prepare self-initiated strategy pieces to determine richness/steepness of ETF/Index options
• Identify and highlight relevant strategies in the current market by studying historical option volatility percentiles and comparing them with current implied volatility
• Suggest strategies for developing option trade ideas, cost-efficient hedging, yield enhancement and risk mitigating
• Back-test option trading strategies, apply statistical analysis, research, advise and consult LOBs on the best custom investment ideas
• Interact with Sales, Traders and Research teams in US and EMEA to understand investor/client interest to come up with trading ideas to suit specific needs
Requirements Top Teir Colleges like IIM-K, IIM-I, other similar B schools etc. Education
• Post Graduate /MBA, Mathematics or Finance related major degree
Experience: At least 0.5-2 year previous experience in Global Markets – Trade Support, Analytics Certifications If Any CFA/FRM preferred Experience Range 0-2 years Foundational skills
• Strong in numbers, aggressive and proactive with a strong ability to manage time effectively
Desired skills
• Can work well under fast paced and under pressure environment
