Job Description
Brassroots Capital is a Toronto-based family office managing a portfolio of commercial and residential real estate assets alongside private lending and joint venture investments.
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Analyst to work directly with the Portfolio Manager across all aspects of the family office including asset management, acquisitions, leasing, reporting, and private debt investments. This is a hands-on, high-exposure role designed for someone early in their career who wants to learn how real estate and private capital actually operate behind the scenes.
The Analyst will support day-to-day execution across the portfolio while gradually taking on greater responsibility over time.
Key Responsibilities
Investment & Portfolio Support
Assist in reviewing potential acquisitions and private debt opportunities
Maintain deal summaries, property summaries, and lease abstracts
Track investment and portfolio information
Monitor development JV investments and reporting
Asset Management & Tenant Coordination
Commercial and residential leasing administration support
Tenant communications and follow-ups
Support with additional rent reconciliations
Reporting & Administration
Assist with quarterly portfolio reporting
Compile historical investment data
Ongoing compliance, document, and information tracking across the portfolio
Candidate Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, real estate, finance, economics, or related field
1–3 years of relevant industry experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Office; PowerPoint and Outlook.
Motivated self-starter with the initiative to identify what needs to be done and take ownership without waiting for direction
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
Comfortable handling a mix of analytical, administrative, and coordination responsibilities
Ability to communicate confidently with tenants, consultants, and stakeholders
Works well in a small, collaborative office environment
Interested long term in real estate and investing
