Business Function
Group Technology and Operations (T&O) enables and empowers the bank with an efficient, nimble and resilient infrastructure through a strategic focus on productivity, quality & control, technology, people capability and innovation. In Group T&O, we manage the majority of the Bank's operational processes and inspire to delight our business partners through our multiple banking delivery channels.
Job Purpose
• Leads a small team within the Reconciliation function responsible for performing on depth analysis of settlement. Synthesizes and analyses team reporting of daily, weekly and monthly reconciliations reports. Interacts with Processor and managers address issues & recommend improvements in the reconciliation process.
Key Accountabilities
• Daily Reconciliation of general ledger balances to the sub ledger.
• Identify and clear accounting exceptions and mismatched items.
• Monitoring status of aged breaks on balance sheet accounts
• Effectively communicate with team members & Management
• Respond to transaction monitoring team requests for information.
• Knowledge of scheme settlement processes
• Complete ATM reconciliation using internal processes and reconciliation application.
• Confirm Vault balances and identify exceptions.
• Confirm overall cash position of each vault cash provider, identifying cash in ATMs, cash in Vaults, Cash in transit, and over/short positions.
• Identify ATM out of balances, track and resolve such items.
• Prepare various reports for Management such as Out of balance counts and performance.
• Ensure adherence to Regulatory, Risk and Control requirements
Required Experience
• Graduate/ Postgraduate (preferably in finance).
• Should have 6 to + years of relevant experience in Reconciliation, accounting ,Scheme / Merchant settlement .
• Principles and other comprehensive basis of accounting
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Strong analytical skills, detail orientation, service commitment, solid organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment, prioritizes multiple tasks and meets strict deadlines
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications. Strong MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint skills required
• Prior experience on ATM CASH Reconciliation preferred
• Basic Knowledge of Banking Regulation (KYC) & Internal Control Guidelines
Education / Preferred Qualifications
• Minimum of graduation from recognised university
