Job Profile
Purpose of Role :
• The regional processing centre for EMEA (EO) provide efficient and accurate processing, ranging from single-touch, single entry to multi-touch and complex transaction processing.
• The Guarantees Team reports in to the the Head of Trade Finance and provides services to the customers of the Commodity and Structured Trade Finance and Transaction Banking Divisions, acts as a processing hub for a number of EMEA branches such as London, Dubai, Paris, MBE.
• The Guarantees team is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of Customer Guarantee Applications and the booking of the obligation into the Banks books and records.
• The Guarantees Team works on issuance and amendments, cancellation of Guarantees, deals with scheduled and unscheduled events, fee administration, issues and queries. These must be dealt quickly and efficiently, and these must be administered in accordance with the relevant Instruction and/or procedures.
• The Guarantees Team Analyst should have the ability to review and structure guarantees to ensure they comply with both the banks’ procedures and processing requirements, provide a Guarantee advisory service as a recognised technical expert, be familiar of all MT7XX series Swift formats and all payment orders/advices. Be computer literate and fully conversant with MS Office tools and have full familiarity of all types of demand guarantees and Standby Letters of Credits, including but not limited to bid, performance, advance payment, warranty, retention. Finally, be able to review and construct a guarantee wording, working closely with Legal as required.
Main Responsibilities:
• In this role, you will be responsible for Guarantees across MUFG’s banking arm and securities business under a dual-hat arrangement. Under this arrangement, you will act and make decisions on behalf of both the bank and the securities business, subject to the same remit and level of authority, and irrespective of the entity which employs you.
• Effectively manage and prioritize workflows to ensure all transactions are organized to meet service level agreements with minimal supervision
• Responsible for the input process.
• Responsible for providing support to London, Paris, Riyadh, Dubai and MBE branch for the input of a vast number of guarantees and subsequent revalue and fees on syndicated deals.
• Assist with ensuring all procedures and directives are up to date and maintained within the team.
• Ensure compliance with all Bank and Regulatory requirements in order to minimize exposure to risk and to safeguard against financial loss to the Bank.
• Provide training and guidance to team members on the guarantee process, and to act as a ‘go-to person in order to resolve day to day operational issues.
• Process and maintain guarantees as required. Monitor all guarantee events.
• Report and control all pending items, and timely escalation all of matters requiring management attention.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
• Experience within a Guarantees environment ideally at a leading International Bank.
• Experience working with clients with tight deadlines, and prioritizing their work
• Proven experience of self-managing workflows.
• Experience of working in a fast moving environment under time pressure whilst retaining strong attention to detail
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Functional / Technical Competencies:
• Demonstrable Knowledge of all guarantee and Standby Letters Of Credit products and their life cycles.
• Technical competence in all rules and publications by the ICC, including and not limited to UCP600,ISP+8, URDG758
Education / Qualifications:
• Essential A level or equivalent education is preferred.
• Equivalent experience will be considered.
• Industry qualifications, i.e. CDCS, CSDG will be an advantage
