Job Description
We are looking for an Android enthusiast who would be responsible for the development and maintenance of applications deployed at scale on a vast number of diverse Android devices. Your primary focus would be the development of Android applications and their integration with back-end services. You would work along-side other engineers and developers working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and passion for creating quality products is essential.
Responsibilities
Building well-architected & maintainable Android apps
Monitoring the performance of live apps and work on optimising them at the code level, as needed
Identifying and resolving bottlenecks, rectifying bugs and enhancing application performance
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to regularly develop new features
Documenting changes & performing unit and instrumentation tests, as needed
Staying up to date with new trends, technologies & best practices to make relevant improvements
Required Technical Skills
2-4 years of experience in the development and maintenance of consumer-facing high traffic Android applications with a desire to work in growing fast-paced startups
Experience building applications from scratch. Well versed with skills for building apps for various display densities and sizes
Up to date on upcoming trends in Android ecosystem with respect to architecture, framework, components, etc.
Experience in optimising all important parameters like performance, network utilization, application size and battery consumption
Ample experience with Kotlin, coroutines, Hilt/Dagger, Retrofit, Jetpack components (primarily architecture), etc.
Good understanding of MVP, MVVM & newer modern architectures to maintain separation of concerns
Good sense of design patterns & UX
Sound knowledge of object-oriented design concepts and algorithms
