Job responsibilities
- Assist with the technical design and planning for the development of Android applications
- Develop and maintain Android applications following industry standards and best practices
- Develop and implement new features and functionality as required
- Triage issues and implement bug fixes for Android applications
- Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
- Work with outside data sources and APIs
- Work on bug fixing and improving application performance
- Follow the application development best practices while maintaining the structure and documentation
- Implement functionality and features that meet the project requirements
Job requirements
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- At least 3+ years of Android app development experience (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
- Strong coding experience with Java and Kotlin
- Expertise in architectural patterns like MVVM, VIPER
- Strong knowledge of Android SDK and different versions of Android
- Strongholds of core software components, including networking, storage/file system, security, memory management, multi-threading, and application lifecycle management
- Experience in integrating web services using REST and JSON
- Wide knowledge of common third-party libraries and APIs
- Fluent in English to communicate effectively
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a 4 hour overlap with US time zones
