Android Developer
Fast Lab Tech, NYC
Part-time/Full-time Remote
We are looking for a skilled Android developer. Once hired you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of android apps that integrate seamlessly with REST back-end/WSDL services. We offer a competitive salary and the job is fully remote.
Responsibilities
Design and build apps for Android.Work with Health Insurance based Fintech services.Work with popular APIs like Uber, stripe and Google Maps platform.Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of apps.Collaborate with a team to define, design, and ship new featuresIdentify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation.Integrate the app with existing backend services.Writing reusable, testable, and efficient codeAble to attend all Team Meetings and facilitate if necessaryShipping app updates, including bug fixes and additional features.Collaborating with UI and UX Designers, as well as Software Testers, to ensure that our app is presentable and in perfect working orderResolve technical issues brought up by users
Competencies
Proficient with Java and Kotlin.Ability to use Android Studio and SDKs with ease.Prior experience as an Android Developer where you have shipped apps on the play store.Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuningFamiliarity with cloud message APIs and push notificationsKnack for benchmarking and optimizationProficient understanding of code versioning with Git and CI/CD.
Requirements
Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s/College Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalentMust have good English communication skills both written and verbal6 years of experience as an Android developerProficient with Git and GitHub.
