Overview
The Android Development Intern will play a crucial role in assisting the development team in creating and maintaining cutting-edge mobile applications. This role will provide the intern with hands-on experience in Android app development and an opportunity to contribute to the entire app lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in designing and building advanced applications for the Android platform using Kotlin.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Work with external data sources and APIs.
• Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
• Contribute to improving application performance and optimizing user experiences.
• Create and maintain software documentation.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technology and best practices in the Android development ecosystem.
• Assist in troubleshooting, debugging, and optimizing existing applications.
• Participate in code reviews to help maintain code quality, performance, and application responsiveness.
• Contribute to UI/UX design and implementation.
• Implement security and data protection best practices.
• Assist in maintaining and improving existing codebases and peer feedback.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas to improve the app experience.
• Assist in integrating third-party libraries and APIs.
• Collaborate with the team to ideate and develop new features and enhancements.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master's student in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience with Android Studio and Kotlin programming language.
• Knowledge of version control using Git and collaboration with Git workflows.
• Passion for mobile development and an ability to learn new technologies quickly.
• Understanding of mobile app development lifecycle.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Experience with publishing apps on Google Play Store is a plus.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services is preferred.
• Understanding of Agile development methodologies.
• Knowledge of software testing and debugging techniques.
• Experience with Firebase and cloud message APIs is a plus.
