Job Description

Job description
• Job: Android OS Engineer – Wearables / Headsets / ARVR (Contract)
• Contract Length: 6-month contract | Inside IR35 | PAYE only | Remote UK
• Annual Salary: £120K–£140K PAYE depending on level, location, and experience
• Location: London - remote

Candidates to be considered MUST be physically based in the UK, holding an appropriate work permit, and no sponsorships provided.

We’re building the operating system behind AR/VR headsets used by millions — and looking for engineers who’ve built Android systems for actual products: wearables, phones, smart devices, you name it.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you’ll:
• Work on AOSP-based Android builds for new hardware
• Integrate Android updates with our own stack
• Build frameworks that live just above the kernel and make the hardware tick

You’ve likely worked at an OEM, device manufacturer, or startup where you’ve had to wear a few hats and get code working on actual hardware. You like working close to the metal, but with an eye on how it ships to users.

What we’re looking for:
• 6+ years engineering experience
• Strong Android OS / AOSP / embedded background
• Solid C++ and Java - Kotlin skills
• Experience building for consumer hardware: phones, headsets, wearables, etc.

Bonus points for:
• VR/AR device experience
• Android performance tuning, system APIs, device security

Interview process is quick – one round. Start ASAP. Contract likely to extend. For more info Apply Now with your CV or LinkedIn profile.
