Your Role and Responsibilities
We re looking for an experienced, motivated hands-on engineer who brings ideas about large-scale design, security, Cloud, UI design and mobile technologies; As an software engineer, you ll apply your deep expertise in designing, developing and delivering Android Applications as part of our world class UEM solution. You need to be versatile, display leadership qualities and open minded to take on new problems that our customers face.
IBM MaaS360 is a market leader in the Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) domain. This 100% SaaS product is delivered from 10 globally distributed data centers that service 16K+ tenants and support 5M+ devices.
Essential Job Functions
• Apply your deep expertise in designing, developing and testing Android mobile device applications.
• Analyze and design software modules, features or components of software programs and develop related specifications.
• Develop, test, document and maintain complex software programs for assigned systems, applications and/or products.
• Code, test and debug new software or enhance existing software.
• Resolve or recommend solutions for complex software problems.
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application.
• Help maintain code quality, organisation and automation.
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• Proven 8+ years of Java Experience and preferably on Android App Development
• Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android
• Added advantage if one has exposure to Android MDM APIs
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services
• Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
• Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
• Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
• Familiarity with continuous integration
