• Act as a technical authority in your area! You’ll help mentor and coach upcoming to mid-level engineers, but you won’t have formal line management responsibilities.
• Work as part of a self-organised engineering team, collaborating with solution architects & UI/UX designers to deliver mobile app features that delight all our customers through their ease and immediacy.
• Be a technical specialist and authority in your field, representing both the Digital Card & Ways to Pay Lab and the wider Everyday Banking Platform.
• You’ll work closely with the product and engineering leads to achieve the vision and customer outcomes for your Lab, through writing well-factored and tested code.

• Diverse technical experience and a proven track record to deliver high quality mobile customer experiences across variable screen sizes and Android versions, you can act as an authority on best practice Android app architecture, principles and patterns.
• Experience mentoring staff up to senior engineering level. This is not a formal line management role, however as a senior management level technical specialist we would like you to be comfortable guiding and mentoring.
• You’re an advocate for quality and can support the team using approaches such as CI/CD best practice, pair programming, secure coding, TDD and BDD

Desirable:
• Working in the public cloud domain at scale, utilising hosted CI/CD pipeline and integrating the Android app with public cloud APIs.
• In terms of personal qualities you’ll want to be effective communicator and comfortable working across diverse teams.
