The role
We’re seeking an Animal Technician (full-time) to join our team. If you have a passion for animal welfare, a strong work ethic, and attention to detail, this could be the perfect opportunity.
A Bachelor of Science or Certificate in Veterinary Nursing is advantageous, but we also welcome applicants from similar backgrounds with relevant animal care experience.
Key responsibilities
Conduct daily welfare checks of mice and rats, including feeding, watering, bedding replacement, and health monitoring .
Prepare and handle cages (3–10kg) from racks ranging from floor to overhead height.
Support animal procedures such as weaning, injections, biopsies, and shipping preparation .
Maintain facility hygiene through cleaning tasks (industrial cage washing, scrubs laundry, sweeping/mopping).
Manage stock and follow quarantine protocols to ensure biosecurity.
Work safely while wearing required PPE (hairnet, mask, gloves, clogs).
What we’re looking for
A genuine interest in animal care and welfare.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks (lifting up to 10kg, frequent standing/walking, bending, and reaching) .
Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow strict protocols.
Team player with a proactive, reliable attitude.
