Role Summary
We are seeking an Ansible Developer with deep expertise in IT automation and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) to design, develop, maintain, and optimize automation solutions across Atos environments. This role will focus on Ansible playbook and module development, integration with enterprise tools, and supporting large-scale transition and transformation projects. The individual will be responsible for end-to-end automation delivery — from requirement gathering to deployment and operationalization — ensuring high-quality, repeatable, and secure automation outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Automation Design & Development
Design and develop Ansible playbooks, roles, and custom modules for automating infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, application deployment, and operational tasks.
Build reusable and scalable automation frameworks to accelerate delivery.
Integrate Ansible with CI/CD pipelines, inventory sources, and enterprise ITSM/monitoring tools.
Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) Practices
Implement infrastructure provisioning and configuration using best-practice IaC principles.
Maintain version control (Git) and follow coding standards to ensure code quality and maintainability.
Enable automated testing and validation of playbooks using Molecule or similar frameworks.
Operations & Support
Troubleshoot issues in existing automation workflows and resolve defects quickly.
Maintain documentation of automation solutions, runbooks, and code repositories.
Provide support for production deployments and coordinate with Operations teams for smooth rollout.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
Work with Solution Architects, Cloud Engineers, and Operations teams to understand requirements and translate them into automation deliverables.
Participate in design discussions, peer reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
Support global transition and transformation projects requiring large-scale automation rollouts.
Security & Compliance
Ensure automation solutions adhere to Atos security, compliance, and governance standards.
Integrate secrets management and access control within Ansible workflows.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to expand automation coverage across infrastructure and applications.
Research and adopt emerging Ansible and automation technologies to improve speed and efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills:
3–6 years of IT experience (minimum 2+ years of hands-on Ansible development).
Strong proficiency in Ansible playbooks, roles, and module development.
Solid understanding of Linux/Unix administration, shell scripting, and Python (preferred for custom modules).
Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitLab, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, etc.) and version control systems (Git).
Experience with automation at scale (e.g., AWX, Ansible Tower).
Knowledge of networking basics and infrastructure components (Servers, VMs, Cloud).
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to collaborate with distributed teams across geographies.
Clear communication skills (documentation, reporting, and stakeholder updates).
Self-driven with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
