Hudson has partnered with a large Federal Government agency and is seeking for Compliance Officers with strong auditing, investigative and customer service skills.
About the Team:
The Levies Compliance team manages an annual risk-based compliance program aimed at encouraging levy payers to voluntarily meet legislative requirements.
This program ensures that levy collections are accurate and provides assurance to government and industry stakeholders.
The team mitigates non-compliance risks by implementing effective compliance activities in alignment with regulatory obligations.
About the Role:
As a Compliance Officer within the Levies Compliance team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with levy-related legislation across various agriculture sectors.
Working under the direction of the Regional Manager, this role requires travel and offers a diverse range of responsibilities. You will:
Conduct on-site inspections of levy agent records across metropolitan and regional areas to ensure compliance with legislation (6-7 times a year)
Manage a diverse caseload, ensuring levy compliance across multiple agriculture sectors.
Monitor and follow up on levy agent enquiries and returns.
Investigate potential breaches of legislation and recommend appropriate actions.
Participate in ad hoc projects and research to identify new levy agents.
Develop and implement strategies to promote voluntary compliance within the regulatory framework.
Liaise and negotiate with both internal and external stakeholders.
What We Are Looking For:
Knowledge and Experience:
Experience in a client-focused, service delivery role.
Experience in a compliance, regulatory, or similar role.
Ability to identify issues, assess risks, and make informed decisions.
Experience in managing a client caseload.
Experience in compliance, investigations, accounting, account management will be highly regarded
Skills and Capabilities:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to liaise and negotiate with various stakeholders.
Proven capacity to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
Strong research skills, providing technical advice and recommendations in relation to legislation and policy.
Effective problem-solving skills and data analysis capabilities.
