Overview

Non-Financial Risk Management (NFRM) is responsible for determining the regulatory and economic capital for operational risks. In addition, the function ensures that the bank's Non-Financial Risk (NFR) exposure is adequately managed in-line with the group wide risk appetite and NFRM framework. The department supports Management of risk decisions by preparing analyses and reports, validates the approaches and methods used in the NFR division (in quantitative and qualitative terms) and verifies business inputs through quality assurance.

The NFRM Team supports operations and drives changes for activities conducted in conjunction with Divisional Control Officers / Infrastructure Control Officers, Risk Managers, Risk Type Controllers and other teams connected to NFR throughout the Bank.

Business/Role Specific Description

As part of NFR APAC Coverage, you will interface across a broad range of stakeholders, and support senior regional leadership and Committee / Council / Board level reporting. You will work closely with APAC counterparts to continuously evolve reporting and will play pivotal role in suggesting strategic solution connecting reporting with key components of NFRM Framework.

You are expected to have a risk mindset with ability to question and refine processes / data within NFRM. The key role mandate is to govern & administer the APAC NFR Profile in accordance with the Banks’ NFRM policies / frameworks and enable proactive oversight and management. The key objectives include bringing transparency across the organization by sharing existing NFR data, identifying emerging risk and risk trends through contextual data analysis and deep dives enabling optimal risk management.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for NFRM APAC executive leadership and Committee / Council / Board level reporting. This includes:
Timely production of Regional / Country / Legal Entity risk profile dashboards by aggregating the data, analyzing and performing quality assurance.
Developing commentary to accompany risk profile distilling data into key messages for senior stakeholders’ consumption
Assess regional applicability of Global Critical findings (internal/external) by liaising with respective stakeholders and RTC’ within APAC to assess the applicability of the finding to the region and present it to the NFRM senior leadership team or council.
Facilitate dynamic Country Risk Assessment by preparing contextual data for the country risk managers
Creating senior management briefing notes to accompany dashboards
Engage with APAC NFR counterparts for enhancements in the process/data quality.
Support in Annual Risk Appetite calibration exercise for the region along with associated countries/legal entities and monthly monitoring of the key metrics.
Be a central liaison for APAC NFRM and support the counterparts in various regulatory submissions, audit deliverables and activities (for e.g., ESG), projects, etc.
Be an APAC representation in the Global programs, tools / procedure enhancement projects, etc. and facilitate continuous improvements.
Monitor, review and validate framework implementation metrics impacting APAC e.g. (Event metrics, Control metrics, Management Committee scores, etc.)
Support the regional senior management in all NFR-related topics.
Your Skills and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Finance, Economics, or equivalent education.
5+ years of experience in executive risk management areas (preferably in Non-Financial Risk Management, Anti Financial Crime, Compliance, Audit, etc.)
Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken with 2-4 years of experience in business writing
Good analytical and high problem-solving skills with an eye for quality and accuracy and ability to deliver even under time pressure.
Experience to work in a matrix organization.
Prior experiences in managing high volume of data
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suit (Excel (incl. VBA), Word and PowerPoint)
Tableau (nice to have but not required)
