Designation - Manager /Senior Manager/ AVP

Roles & Responsibilties

- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating:
- Financing agreements (such as facility agreement, loan agreements and escrow agreements), security documents (such as deed of hypothecation and guarantees), securitization agreements (such as assignment agreements, trust deeds, servicing agreements, accounts agreements, power of attorneys )
- Trade agreements such as sale agreements, purchase agreements, receivable purchase agreements)
- Operational agreements such as NDA, MOUs, marketing agreements, referral agreements, agency agreements, data processing agreements, . consultancy agreements, debt service agency agreements.
- Secretarial compliances such as issuing notices for meetings of board and shareholders, maintaining minutes, filing forms with MCA
- Liaising with external counsels / law firms
- Experience in:
- regulations applicable to and compliances requirements of NBFCs
- enforcement of security.
- Provided legal advisory on critical criminal matters to Head-Legal, VP-Legal, and Senior Management including solicitors in relation Statutory Authority, Regulatory Authority and Law Enforcement Agencies.
- Drafting and Vetting of Written Opinion, Civil Suits, Commercial Suits, Writ Petitions, Bail and Anticipatory Bail Applications, Quashing Petition, Affidavit in Reply, Consumer Complaints, Notices/Reply to Law Enforcement Agencies and Police Authorities, Civil/Commercial Suits.

Join Western Union’s Privacy and Data Governance (PDG) team as Privacy Counsel and Regional Data Protection Officer (DPO) for the APAC region. Serving as APAC Privacy Counsel and Regional Data Protection Officer (DPO), you will have the opportunity to work and advise on a variety of new business initiatives throughout the APAC region as the company evolves its business. Reporting to and working with the Head of Legal, Privacy, you will collaborate on setting and executing the goals of Western Union’s Privacy and Data Governance team.
• Role Responsibilities:

- Partnering and developing relationships with key stakeholders across the Western Union business to advise on pragmatic ways of incorporating privacy by design principles into new projects and initiatives.
- Advising on marketing communications and initiatives.
- Draft and enhance the privacy, data protection, and cybersecurity clauses in contract templates, refine playbooks and guidance, and negotiate privacy clauses in contracts with our vendors and business partners.
- Conducting privacy risk assessments and data protection impact assessments.
- Drafting and delivering privacy training to staff and driving initiatives to promote privacy awareness throughout the APAC region and the company.
- As DPO, serving as a point of contact for Western Union, its employees and the public for issues related to data protection and privacy policies and practices within their region.
- Reporting on data protection matters to boards and senior management in APAC; and serving as point of contact with applicable data protection authorities.
• Role Requirements:

- To be successful in this role, you will need a law degree and 7-10+ years of experience working as a lawyer, including at least 3 years of demonstrated experience working in privacy and data protection law.
- While not required, privacy and data protection certification are desirable.
- Fluency in the English language as well as at least one other language in the APAC region.
