Data infrastructure support engineer would be acting as L3 support for self-service advanced analytic big data platform responsible for day-to-day L3 support of platform on-premise and Cloud, automating day to day tasks and handling escalations from L2 team, identifying possible improvements and working with product team on enhancements.
What will you be doing
• * Ensure deliverables comply to Barclays standards and policies (for security, data privacy, accessibility)
• Day to day support and escalation handling coming from data scientists or L2 support team
• Identify possible design / deployment issues and work with product team on remediation
• Support of:
• highly available distributed systems
• automation of deployments and testing
• Drive deliveries assigned within running Scrums
• Ensuring all support tasks are recorded and completed in a professional and structured manner
• Constantly review standards and best practices to identify performance improvements
• Suggesting new ways forward and coming up with new feature / automation ideas
• Collaboration with cross-functional support teams
• Ownership of defects & work closely product team / developers to review changes & contribute as required
• Contribution in service improvement
What we're looking for:
• Very good understanding of Hadoop core concepts and technologies
• Experience in implementing big data solutions using one of the technologies: Hive, YARN and Spark
