Job Description
The Application Developer - Java, VBCS, OIC, ADF, and SaaS Extensions develops custom applications that enhance and extend the functionality of Oracle Cloud applications. Experience in product personalization, data integration, data conversion and report development are required for this role.
The Application Developer will have proven expertise developing solutions using Oracle IaaS/PaaS services such as Java Cloud Service, Oracle Integration Cloud including Visual Builder Cloud Service, and WebLogic Server. This position requires experience with programming languages such as Java and JavaScript, and deep understanding of concepts such as data extracts, application security, and web services including REST and SOAP APIs.
The role requires availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays to support period close activities, non-production refreshes, patches, and upgrades when needed. The successful candidate will be highly collaborative and operate in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment. They will need to be hands on, self-motivated and take initiative to solve problems, automate manual effort and continuously improve.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Coordinate with business team members to ensure that all technical activities are aligned with business goals and timelines.
• Work closely with Functional Analysts and Solution Architects to gather requirements for reports, interfaces, extensions, and integrations.
• Lead the technical design and development of integration solutions utilizing all available integration services.
• Provide strong subject matter expertise to identify and translate business and system requirements into design artifacts and documents.
• Collaborate with project teams and delivery managers to provide accurate estimates in support of solution implementation plans.
• Interface with business and technical team members to coordinate task completion.
• Develop technical designs and documentation for data conversions, interfaces, custom reporting, and custom applications including use of documented revision control.
• Participate in the design, development, and maintenance of conversions, modifications/customizations, and interfaces to/from Oracle applications.
• Open, manage, and resolve Oracle Service Requests with Oracle Support.
• Drive the resolution & troubleshooting of issues during development and post-production support.
• Design, document and perform unit testing to validate application functionality.
• Develop an understanding of a team's current state business process and propose future state recommendations for improvement.
• Advise clients on options, risks, and any impacts on other processes or systems.
• Support testing phases including system integration testing and user acceptance testing.
• Develop end-user documentation and training materials.
• Effectively communicate and drive project deliverables.
• Complete tasks efficiently and in a timely manner.
• Facilitate working sessions with business and technical teams.
• Support business transformation through continuous system improvement.
Qualifications:
• 3+ years working with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure services including Oracle Integration Cloud, Visual Builder Cloud Service, WebLogic Server or Java Cloud Service.
• Hands-on experience configuring and implementing enterprise integration architecture solutions using OIC adapters (SOAP, REST, FTP, other pre-built adapters).
• Strong Experience working with Oracle web services including SOAP/XML, REST/JSON.
• Strong BI Publisher, BICC, FBDI, and OTBI experience including SQL/plsql.
• Experience with Oracle Cloud Security Framework (Role Base Access Control).
• Experience developing or enhancing Order Management extensions with Groovy Script.
• Working knowledge and experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure PaaS offerings including ICS, PCS, JCS, JCS-SX, VBCS, and WLS.
• Exposure integrating Oracle SaaS applications with other cloud and third-party applications using a variety of Oracle integration technologies (OIC, SOACS, SOA, OSB, ODI, etc.).
• Exposure extending Oracle SaaS applications using a variety of Oracle technologies (VBCS, JET, APEX, ADF, etc.).
• Strong experience recommending solutions and identifying/implementing OIC adapters based on client's integration scenarios, use cases, and requirements.
• Willing to learn a range of business or technical specialties based on business needs.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
• Demonstrated ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
• Required: Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or similar
• Preferred: Oracle Cloud Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working with multiple currencies in the Quote to Cash process
• Certifications such as OCI Developer or similar
