Team/Position Overview
Trade Treasury Services TTS provides transaction and banking services to Citi's Institutional Clients, and is truly a global organization, having a presence in over 100 countries. TTS is one of the strongest businesses at Citi, delivering consistent quarter-on-quarter profitability and growth.
TTS EMEA Technology Payments and Receivables, processes millions of payments daily for 100+ different payment products across 54 EMEA branches.
The Applications Manager is an level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team.
The Application Manager will be responsible for delivering a complex book-of-work and ensuring the stability & resilience of technology platform.
Responsibilities:
• Deliver technology solutions to complex, enterprise level programs, managing the design, development, implementation, dependencies, risks and controls elements of the lifecycle.
• Responsible for building and managing relationships with vendors who supply products and services to Citi and ensuring they meet or exceed their contractual obligations.
• Communicate project timelines and milestones; obtain senior management feedback; understand potential technical speed bumps and client's true concerns/needs.
• Adherence to project and application management standards.
• Utilize knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts, and basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system enhancements, including using script tools and analyzing/interpreting code
• Consult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues, and recommend programming solutions, install, and support customer exposure systems
• Apply fundamental knowledge of programming languages for design specifications.
• Work with domain Architects and Business Analysts in design
• Work closely with Quality Control teams to deliver quality projects to agreed schedules.
• Identify problems, analyze information, and make evaluative judgements to recommend and implement solutions
• Resolve issues by identifying and selecting solutions through the applications of acquired technical experience and guided by precedents
• Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
• Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
• Acts as SME to senior stakeholders
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Experience and Skills:
• 5-8 years of relevant experience in the Financial Service industry
• Intermediate level experience in Applications Development and Management role
• Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
• Agile concepts knowledge
• Experience of working effectively in matrix organizational structures. Experience with Financial Services technology platforms.
• Effective negotiation skills, a proactive and 'no surprises' approach in communicating issues.
• Articulate and effective communicator, both orally and written, with an energetic and approachable style.
• Ability to contribute in an innovative environment with good analytical and business skills.
• Knowledge of development technology, Java, C#, SQL, Teamcity, Bitbucket, uDeploy, Big Data, Cloud, JIRA etc.
Recommended Skills
It would be perfect to have a good, working knowledge and hands on experience of at least one of the following areas:
• Unix/Linux
• Java/.Net framework and object-oriented programming in general
• Python or another scripting language
• Oracle PLSQL/MS SQL/DB2 (and also NO-SQL DBs like Mongo)
• UDeploy
• Business Intelligence tools like Qlik
• General technical architectures
• Technical tools like IDEs, source control, etc
Education:
• Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
