Douglas is embarking on the next phase of operations digitalisation. A key focus will be the digitalisation of Manufacturing, including the selection and deployment of a new SCADA system. This multi-year programme will increase efficiency, strengthen compliance, and set the foundation for future growth.
What you'll do
In this senior leadership role, you'll be at the centre of Douglas' digital transformation, shaping strategy, leading people, and ensuring our systems and solutions deliver real business impact.
Lead & Inspire: Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering collaboration, engagement and a 'One-Douglas' mindset. Provide clear goals, champion our culture, and role-model the leadership behaviours that drive success.
Shape Strategy: Work with senior leaders and stakeholders to define the digital roadmap, aligning technology priorities with business goals.
Deliver Digital Solutions: Oversee the implementation, integration and validation of critical applications and systems—ensuring projects land on time, on budget, and in full compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements.
Keep Systems Running Smoothly: Manage system support, vendor partnerships, incident resolution and performance optimisation, ensuring operational uptime, security, and continuous improvement.
Safeguard Data & Compliance: Maintain data integrity and security, oversee master data and serialisation systems, and ensure full compliance with PICS, GMP and audit requirements.
Optimise Resources: Manage budgets effectively, delivering value, efficiency, and measurable outcomes across all digital initiatives.
Your leadership will make a real impact, strengthening collaboration, safeguard compliance, enhance system reliability, and accelerate our digital transformation, directly enabling Douglas to deliver world-class medicines in a fast-moving digital landscape.
What you'll bring
Proven expertise - 10+ years in Operational Technology with hands-on experience in applications, PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) selection, configuration, and deployment.
Leadership impact - at least 5 years in senior technology roles, driving teams and projects to success.
Regulated industry know-how - a strong track record in sectors like pharmaceuticals, finance, or energy, with ITIL and/or GAMP knowledge.
Project leadership skills - confident managing cross-functional teams and complex projects; MES or SCADA experience a bonus.
The right qualifications - a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, or similar (ITIL certification a plus).
Standout qualities - customer-focused, structured thinker with sharp problem-solving, clear communication, and sound decision-making.
True leadership - self-motivated, collaborative, and able to inspire others to deliver their best.
