We are expanding our team and seeking analytically minded individuals with experience in the appraisal industry and/or experience in buildings or construction to join our dynamic team in a Consultant role based in Western Canada. What You’ll Do
Site Inspections: Travel to various locations to gather detailed information, measurements, and photographs on buildings, equipment and furnishings.
Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough research and expert analysis to develop solid, defensible value estimates.
Report Preparation: Prepare Appraisal Reports (value estimates) and Insurance Appraisals (cost estimates)
Variety: Alternate between fieldwork (on-site inspections) and office tasks (research, analysis, costing, and report preparation). Gain exposure to multiple sectors, such as Mult-residential, commercial, municipal and educational properties.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate with skilled team members to ensure high-quality, defensible reporting.
Travel Opportunities
This role offers variety and exciting travel opportunities, with up to 30-40% travel within your home province and occasional Western Canada and national travel. You’ll have the chance to explore new places and various industries while contributing to our success. You must reside in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, or Manitoba, and be within close proximity to a major airport.

You have a strong attention to detail and can manage multiple projects with competing deadlines. You are proficient with technology and can learn new digital tools and systems quickly. You’re willing to travel regionally and nationally and have a valid driver’s license.

Your Credentials
Full proficiency in written and oral English (proficiency in additional languages are an asset);
Completion of post-secondary education;
Solid construction knowledge is an asset;
Experience with Field inspections of buildings and improvements for costing purposes; and/or land and facilities inspections related to risk assessment purposes is an asset;
Understanding of building codes, fire codes and bylaws is an asset;
Strong digital literacy, including efficient file management, data accuracy, and attention to detail when working with technology;
Proficient with Microsoft Office;
Knowledge of building design and ability to read blueprints are assets; and
A combination of education, knowledge and experience will be considered.
