Downer has been awarded the Property and Asset Services (PAS) contract to deliver base and estate services across their two largest regions NSW/ACT and QLD. This is a significant milestone for our business and our enduring 80+ year relationship with the Australian Defence Force.
We’re inviting first to fourth year apprentices to join our permanent workforce at Various Defence Locations in a Preventative Maintenance Apprenticeship role. We’re committed to building a workplace where everyone feels respected, valued, and empowered to contribute.

What You’ll Do
This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:
Conducting risk assessments associated with every task, hazard identification and implementing controls to ensure a zero-harm approach to preventative maintenance
Adherence to maintenance activities defined under the Defence Service Definition Table and associated maintenance schedule. Including inspections, testing, adjustments, cleaning and minor replacements such as filters.
Conducting activities on a defined cycle including weekly, monthly, quarterly and/or annual tasks based on asset class and risk.
Carrying out standardised tasks that are repeatable to ensure consistency, with works to be conducted by appropriately qualified and licenced trades.
Preventative Maintenance inspections are intended to identify wear, deterioration, or potential failure points requiring remediation.
