Apprentice Carpenter

We’re seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as Carpentry Apprentices._- With 35 years of experience, here at East Coast Apprenticeships, we pride ourselves on our ability to effectively hire and train apprentices, resulting in the development of skilled tradespeople equipped to meet the demands of industry._As a Carpentry Apprentice with ECA:- You will have the opportunity to work on a range of exciting projects, from new home builds and renovations to refurbishments and commercial projects.- You will be working full-time, 40 hours per week- You will be entitled to a rostered day off each month- If successful, you will be completing your trade with one of our Host Employers, who will give you in-depth knowledge and guidance to help you become trade qualified within 4 yearsWith the support of qualified trades people, you will be:- Studying drawings and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions and installation procedures- Measuring materials- Using a variety of hand and power tools- Carrying out calculations- Ordering and selecting timbers and materials, and preparing layouts- Cutting materials, and assembling and nailing cut and shaped parts- Erecting framework and roof framing, laying sub-flooring and floorboards and verifying trueness of structures- Nailing fascia panels, sheathing roofs, and fitting exterior wall cladding and door and window frames- Assembling prepared wood to form structures and fittings ready to install- Cutting wood joints- May construct concrete formwork- May repair existing fittings- May work with plastic laminates, Perspex and metals- Any other tasks requested by the host employerTo be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must have:- An interest and commitment to work in Construction- A White Card or the ability to obtain one ASAP- A current Drivers License or be close to obtaining one, and have your own reliable transport- Certificate I or II in Construction is advantageous- Work experience within the construction industry is highly desirable- Physically fit, self-disciplined, and have high attention to detail- Reliable, resilient, motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced environment- Able to take direction and take the safety of yourself and your team members seriously- Ideally, have your own basic tools (including nail bag)As an apprentice with ECA, you will enjoy a range of benefits, including:- Award wages (paid fortnightly) + Super + Holiday Leave Loading + Allowances- Paid TAFE block periods + Work shirts provided + Safety Equipment + Tool allowance- A dedicated Field Officer assigned for full mentoring and support during your apprenticeship, as well as a full team of staff overseeing your apprenticeship, ensuring you only need to focus on your work and college- Genuine support for your personal wellbeing, including access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP)- A large network of Host Employers looking to host enthusiastic apprentices and help them become trade qualified- Modern Award rates apply_- Access the PACT Calculator via Fairwork Website to help you understand your hourly rate.- Please note, to be eligible you must be an Australian citizen, Permanent resident, or hold a valid visa that allows you to work and undertake training in Australia.Keep up to date with vacancies on our Facebook pageTO APPLY AND PRIORITISE YOUR APPLICATIONSuccessful applicants will be contacted for an interviewJob Types: Full-time, ApprenticeshipSchedule:- Monday to FridayWork Location: In person
