Apprentice – Civil Construction

Position Overview
This four-year apprenticeship provides comprehensive training within our Civil Works and Presentation team. You will assist in a wide range of tasks, including planned and reactive maintenance, restoration, and construction of civil assets such as roads, footpaths, and stormwater infrastructure.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve:
Working with concrete and asphalt to construct and repair surfaces.
Performing excavation and concrete cutting tasks.
Operating limited plant and equipment under supervision.
Assisting with traffic management and basic surveying activities.
You will receive structured, hands-on training while completing your Certificate III in Civil Construction. Attendance at the allocated Registered Training Organisation and successful completion of all learning components is essential to your progress.

Adhere to Council’s Code of Conduct, policies, and all relevant legislation at all times.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
Maintain a strong focus on safety and promptly report any hazards or risks.
Complete all mandatory training within the required timeframes.
Demonstrate Council’s values in every interaction with colleagues and the community.
Participate in performance reviews and take accountability for your development.
Use Council resources responsibly and in a sustainable manner.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for individuals who are eager to learn, committed to building a career in civil construction, and willing to work hard to achieve their goals.
Essential:
Completion of Year 10 Record of School Achievement.
Ability to meet manual handling and physical requirements of the role.
Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions and use trade-related equipment.
A genuine interest in civil construction and infrastructure projects.
Desirable:
Current Class C driver’s licence.
