A bit about the role:
The Apprentice Electrician has a dynamic role allowing the individual to gain exposure to the full range of areas Electricians encounter in the workforce, including; Commercial, Industrial and Domestic applications. The role requires both indoor and outdoor work requiring developed problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Programming of devices and computer are also tasks the Electrical team undertake frequently. The Apprentice will be required to provide support to the Electrical team who deliver Council wide services.
In a trainee, we look for:
Advanced problem-solving skills
Someone who enjoys working on a computer
Strong Maths and English skills
Good organisation skills and attention to detail
Ability to work with a team
What you can learn:
Installation of lighting and power cables
Maintenance of switchboards, power and lighting
Circuit troubleshooting and some programming skills
Understanding of WHS and PPE requirements
How to manage your time and priorities
An Apprentice Electrician is full time employment for four (4) years and the proposed study will be a Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician.
