Sidekick Services is hiring on behalf of a local client for an Apprentice HVAC Technician – Residential & Commercial

Location: Nanaimo and surrounding areas, Canada
Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00pm
Pay: $30 - $45/hour based on experience and certification + company vehicle and phone
Job Type: Full-Time

What You’ll Be Doing

· Performing HVAC installs, service work, and maintenance

· Diagnosing faults and delivering clear solutions

· Working on both residential and commercial projects

· Working alongside experienced Journeymen

· Communicating clearly with clients and the office team

· Completing all work to code, spec, and schedule

· Using job management software for notes, time entries, and updates

· Keeping your van, tools, and job sites clean and organized

We work with a range of systems, including ERVs and HRVs, Makeup Air, Heat Pumps, Rooftop Units, VRFs, Split Systems, Furnaces, Walk-in Coolers, Controls, and more. Fueled by natural gas, propane, oil, and electricity. If you’re confident across that range, you’ll hit the ground running.

What We’re Looking For

· Certified Refrigeration and A/C Mechanic (2nd or 3rd year Apprentice - Required)

· Class B Gas Ticket – Beneficial

· Class A Gas Ticket – Beneficial

· Class B-R FSR Certificate – Beneficial

· Backflow Certification – Beneficial (or willing to obtain)

· 2+ years of real-world HVAC experience

· Leadership mindset and solid communication

· Valid driver’s licence and clean record

Career Path & Training

Our leadership path is clearly defined: from Junior Tech, to Lead Tech, to Senior Lead/Job Supervisor, and into Project Manager, supported by hands-on experience, quoting exposure, and regular check-ins to keep your progress on track.

· Shadowing our senior PM on commercial builds
